I am seriously impressed with the ways my interns performed this whole month. For one thing, we had a particularly hard-hit month of patients and new leukemia diagnoses. Two, when I was an intern, I had my head up my ass.

I remember going around on the wrong floor (which isn’t that unusual, right Annelise?) and confused as to why every room had the wrong patient in it. Sadly,  to save face, I would go through with examining these people and asking them some questions before wishing them well and promising that the team would round later.

I never told anyone this.

I don’t think, in retrospect, this was very professional. But I meant well. I also got a lot of practice with physical exams.

So yay, Netsanet and Shaheen, for bounding over all my expectations and staying on the right floor the whole rotation.
